Dr. Lese has a distinguished track record in finance and in medicine. As Fund Manager, Dr. Lese achieved one of the highest returns for the $100 million Fidelity Select Food and Agriculture Portfolio. She was able to achieve this all within nine months, amid a severe US market decline. BusinessWeek identified the fund as one of “The Best Mutual Funds” (October 8, 2001). Dr. Lese outperformed the S&P 500 by 29.3% during her tenure as fund manager, with beta=0.20. The Morningstar fund rating reached the highest rating of 5 Stars from 3 Stars (3-year performance) during her leadership.
Dr. Gail Bronwyn Lese holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Prior to entering the investment profession, Dr. Lese practiced medicine in Los Angeles. She earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Philosophy and Biology from Lehigh University. She then went on to earn a Doctor of Medicine from Cornell University Medical College.
Dr. Lese practiced medicine in Los Angeles. She did her medical training in Pediatric Medicine and Pediatric Neurological Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Dr. Lese has conducted medical and policy research that has received national and international acclaim. Her research has been published in leading medical journals: Neurosurgery, Archives of Neurology, and the European Journal of Pediatric Surgery.
Dr. Gail Lese has a deep commitment to public service and volunteerism. Her extensive volunteer service has included serving on the board of directors of the Foundation for Gender Equality, the Mass Mentoring Partnership, the American Red Cross, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod; founding multiple community service programs, serving as a volunteer at the L.A. Free Clinic; and the Make a Wish Foundation.
Carl Youngman, Senior Partner
Carl Youngman, a Founding Partner of Lese Investments, is recognized as one of America’s foremost experts in managing urgent situations. Having assisted more than 250 companies, he has held significant roles such as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, President, and Director. A considerable number of the companies were public companies.
Mr. Youngman’s hands-on approach places a strong emphasis on leadership and the pragmatic aspects of achieving goals. Additionally, he has been actively involved as a partner in numerous private equity firms, overseeing total assets exceeding $1 billion. Notably, he holds the highest ranking from the American College of Corporate Directors. Mr. Youngman received a lifetime achievement award from Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who Worldwide. He has also been honored with an original founder’s award from The Turnaround Management Association. Mr. Youngman proudly holds the designation of Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP degree) and is enshrined in its Hall of Fame. Moreover, Mr. Youngman is a distinguished member of the Young Presidents Organization and the Chief Executives Organization.

Tim Fisher, Senior Partner
Timothy O. Fisher is a Founding Advisory Board member of Lese Investments. Mr. Fisher has a highly distinguishedcareer in Investing. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Hillman Company, the premier integratedfamily office and investment holding company, with more than 100 years of experience in public market and privateequity investing. Mr. Fisher has been an officer or director of 157 private companies and three public companies.
Mr. Fisher serves as a member of The Hillman Company’s Board of Directors and the InvestmentCommittee. Over his forty-one year career with Hillman, he has served as an officer or director ofapproximately one hundred fifty seven private businesses and three publicly listed companies. Inaddition to Lese Investments, Mr. Fisher serves on the Advisory Boards of six private equity fundslocated in the U.S. and Western Europe where Hillman is a significant investor, and two privatefirms in New York where Mr. Fisher is an individual investor.
Mr. Fisher launched Hillman’s initial investments in long/short equity hedge funds, and over thepast decades he has expanded the hedge fund portfolio to include a concentrated group of longonly funds with superior long-term performance metrics.
Mr. Fisher was born and raised in New England and attended the Holderness School in NewHampshire. He and his wife, Audrey, reside in a loft located in downtown Pittsburgh and ownhomes in Holderness, NH and Santa Barbara, CA. Over the past two decades, Mr. Fisher hasplayed an active role conserving land in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire working with theSquam Lakes Association, the Lakes Region Conservation Trust and the Squam LakesConservation Society where he serves on the board of directors. Mr. Fisher served as an officer ordirector of the Squam Lakes Association for fifteen years including four years as president. Mr.Fisher is currently a member of the Advisory Council of the University of California Arts &Lectures program, the Investment Committee of the Santa Barbara Art Museum and boardmember of the Santa Barbara Center for the Performing Arts. Over the years he has also servedon a dozen nonprofit boards located in Pittsburgh, PA and Central New Hampshire.
